David C. Van Leeuwen joins the Peyrot & Associates Team as Partner with strong litigation expertise in all areas of business, commercial and real estate law.
David is highly knowledgeable in all the nuances of the law and is experienced in counseling clients in a wide variety of matters. David's professional compassion coupled with his astute familiarity of the Supreme Court of New York as well as the Appellate Division make him an ideal advocate for our clients.
Prior to joining Peyrot & Associates, David worked for high profile law firms where he appeared on complex civil matters before New York City Area State and Federal Courts and drafted pleadings and dispositive memoranda for use in state and federal civil litigation. David is also well-versed in representing parties in intricate real estate transactions, commercial agreement disputes, drafting internal and corporate limited liability agreements as well as employment related contracts.
David received his law degree from Union University, Albany Law School and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree at the State University of New York at Geneseo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Global Political Economy. Completing coursework in political philosophy and metaphysics at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom gave David a worldly perspective of policy and business.
David is an active volunteer with multiple philanthropic organizations which give back to the community. David is a member of the New York State Bar Association, The Netherlands America Foundation, New York County Lawyers Association, the Scandinavian-American Foundation and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, New York. He travels several times each year to Stockholm on various business matters. When he is not in the office or the courtroom, David enjoys playing soccer and basketball regularly and can often be found diving into a great book or visiting one of Manhattan's diverse cultural institutions.
